Hello BoS (Brother of SIFORS), how does it feel to study in Information Systems study program? Of course it's fun isn't it? Previously, I would like to introduce myself, Agung Ukki Galih Cahyaningsih, a 2018 Undiksha Information System student. Well, on this occasion I will share a bit of my experience completing my studies in Information Systems with the help of a scholarship (Bidikmisi). How can I complete my studies on time and of course not add to the Single Tuition Fee (UKT)? Most of the students who get scholarships of course have obligations that we must follow. The obligation starts from a minimum Semester Achievement Index score of 3.00, always actively participates in institutional/organizational activities within Undiksha and achieves achievements both within Undiksha and outside Undiksha. In addition, this Bidikmisi scholarship also has a time limit, for the Bachelor degree category, you can get up to 8 semesters. Okay, just a few tips or rather my experience completing studies with the Bidikmisi scholarship in Information Systems.
- Setting the Time
As I discussed, students who get scholarships certainly have obligations that must be fulfilled. Especially actively participate in the activities of institutions/organizations. In semester 1 to semester 6 I actively participated in organizations and committees within the faculty and participated in activities carried out by the institution. Although active in several activities, of course, I did not leave college, always attended lectures according to schedule, was active in class and did not forget to do my homework on time. At the end of the 6th semester, I started looking for references to thesis topics related to the Information Systems study program, either through journals, discussions with friends and the Undiksha library. During the 7th semester, I started submitting the title of the thesis several times to the Study Program Coordinator, not only once but when I submitted it, I certainly started to struggle where the title was rejected and several revisions to research sources. Until finally at the time of this submission, Mr. Ardwi as the Study Program Coordinator as well as my Main Advisor gave enlightenment to take a case study on the application of lecturer research, namely LetSign for Usability Testing. Until finally the topic of my thesis at ACC with the title "Usability Testing on the LetSign Trilingual Sign Language Dictionary Application Using Field Observation, Think Aloud and System Usability Scale (SUS) Methods" - Optimistic
In semester 7 I focused on working on a thesis proposal until I arrived at ACC in order to carry out the proposal exam as soon as possible. The process of working on this thesis proposal is quite long, starting from back and forth revisions with the two supervisors, matching related references and looking for information related to the application with the developer. Until finally after working on my thesis proposal for several months at ACC to be tested in February which is already entering the beginning of semester 8. Not yet finished with the world of thesis, after the proposal examination stage there is still a revision of the proposal until it is returned to ACC by examiners and supervisors. With a little more time left, I worked on the thesis with full smoldering. Starting from collecting data, analyzing data, meeting supervisors every day so that they always review the results of the thesis report and make revisions. Until July my thesis report is ready to be tested. At the end of the closing of the graduation registration I was still optimistic that I could complete it. But according to my discussion with the supervisor, Mr. Ardwi as well as the Coordinator of the Study Program, how can I not pay the UKT. The discussion provided enlightenment that it was still possible to attend the November graduation period and complete all thesis revisions during the UKT payment period. Finally, I finished the thesis revision on time, so I received a commendation with a 3.58 GPA and spent 4 years 0 months of study. My note here is that there is no problem following the next graduation as long as you don't pay UKT anymore hehehe.
So many tips or my experience when finishing my thesis with full smoldering even though sometimes I feel lazy and not in the mood to work on the thesis. While working on my thesis, I also worked in two places for only a month in a company (don't copy it so you don't get stuck like I end up hehe). For SIFORS friends who are in the process of submitting topic titles, be enthusiastic and don't forget to diligently look for references in journals, Undiksha libraries and of course ask your seniors (because now SIFORS already has seniors).
Greetings SIFORS Undiksha Thesis Fighters
Thank you
