Hi SIFORS friends, how are you? I hope you are always healthy
At this time I want to share a little experience that I feel, listen, my friend, who knows someone else is confused like what I felt in your days.
Who wouldn't be relieved if they were successfully accepted into a college with the major or study program we chose to continue their education, surely all of them, my friend. But yes, after previously being confused about which major we will choose, then maybe some of you will be confused about determining the main interest in the major we choose. So that we can focus on digging deeper into that field, like we are serious about it, yay? Rich what is it? How? Job prospects? Target profession that we want? etc. Especially as you get older (uh, I mean the semester) which will show you various subjects. Even this, yes, our interest or interest will be oblivious. Semester 2 likes matkul A, in the future you can like new matkul again, just like that until finally the thesis is still confused and finally explores everything we learn from 0 again. It's true that the courses that we will meet will be in accordance with the interests we want, but this is it, but, keep in mind, pal, in a study program also has several fields, you know. This is because the field that you will study in college will be wider and deeper in perspective than the 13 subjects that you studied in school.
How are you? Have you started wondering?
Calm down, don't immediately say "au ah it's dark" mate, or say "I don't know, the important thing is the degree, the important thing is to pass" wkwkwk. Just admit that some of you are guided by that kind of mindset, be careful, you'll join the Meditua gang (sorry in the old semester) wkwkwk. Here, I will spill some tips that can enlighten your mind, but this disclaimer is based on my experience, mate. I'm listening, come on, come on...
- Key points in the field of study
There is a term, if you don't know it, you don't love it. It also applies here, you know, if you don't get acquainted with the course first, how do you want to be interested, the ones who are there are even more confused and branched out to target the future. Well, in lectures we will meet various types of subjects with a broad scope, you know, my friend. So, just relying on the time of the course meeting does not guarantee you to get as much information as you need. This is where your generation's geeky talent can be optimized for more useful things. Of the many matkuls that you will find, you can ask Ms. Google for information to spark your interest in certain subjects. For example, yes, you are curious about courses in the field of data, for example data mining. Well, you can really get points on Google, just type "data mining", there you will get points. Starting from what is data mining? How is data mining? What will you learn? What are the job prospects? What type of profession? Where needed? Etc. Things that of course you feel are less clear than what you get during the matkul class. If you are interested in matkul from an early age, this will also be very useful for you later in the final semester, especially in determining the topic of the thesis that you will research. - Target the desired profession
Okay, optimizing the skepticism of a matkul already. Well, from all the information that you have obtained from a matkul, more or less you must have had an idea about that matkul. When you feel interested in a course and then you feel like clicking, you feel "wow, this field is fun, fun, I really like it, etc." Then you can create new targets. From the beginning, you were just curious, then continued to focus, target, plan what profession you would become the center of attention to cultivate your potential in the future. Because from the results of your curiosity, you must have also found prospects or professions that you can take in the future according to that field. For example, you are targeting after graduating from college to work in the business analyst field. Well, with this target, you will automatically find out from the start, to get a job in that field you have to master anything to become your capital. That way, when you graduate from college, at least your sense of insecurity will decrease because you already have the capital for war in that field. Btw, insecure is necessary, mate. Cause with insecurity, you will continue to try to improve yourself to be even better, you know, so don't overthink because you are insecure. But keep in mind, don't overdo it, okay, anything in excess is not good, you know, pal. Then, in addition to targeting the profession, targeting your dream company is also okay, pal. This will increase your war spirit to become more and more in a positive way, you know. Because believe me, the "welcome to the jungle" syndrome is really not that good, it makes you more unable to sleep than submitting a thesis topic that doesn't get acceded hahaha. While talking about a thesis, a thesis topic that is in line with your professional target will be very useful in preparing you to get a job later. What's more, you really are interested in that field, so you can chill and work on it, buddy. - Self-study
"Sis, if you don't depend on the matkul class hours, then how can I learn and explore a lot about the field that I'm interested in?" Wow, wow, wow, if you get to this, there are questions like this, this fix is ββnot because of limited study space or the like. But, well, I'm just lazy, let's admit it wkwkwk. Pls, yes, you guys, we are already in an era where information doesn't have space and time limits, you know. What's really easy to find, now what's hard to find is not the information, not the knowledge, but the intention, yay? To get more war preparations and knowledge, you have to be diligent in exploring independently. For example, you can take part in various webinars, online courses, and so on according to your interests and career goals. Even in this day and age, it's not difficult to join webinars or online courses for free. The thing that needs to be considered in the context of "self-study" in my opinion is the intention that is accompanied by commitment. Come on, come on, it's better to do it before regretting it later in the old semester or after graduating from college later. Indeed, it is never too late to learn, but it would be nice if we could be aware and learn as early as possible so that the "dream to be established" can be achieved as early as possible, right. - Optimize study time
In addition to doing independent learning, you really have to optimize your lecture time. Don't be shy about asking questions, don't be shy about being an active student in class for fear of being called smart by other friends. When you already know where your learning direction is, what do you want to be, what field do you focus on. Just go ahead, follow your heart, hold on to your commitment because the only one who knows what you need is you. So, make it simple, mate. During lectures, you can really ask the related lecturers about things that you might not understand when exploring independently related to the field you are interested in. But, remember, my friend asked the lecturer who is really deep in that field (just remember so that you don't get dizzy in congregation). - Learn from the internship as much as possible
Okay, the last but not least. Look for information on internship opportunities at various companies that match your career targets. Wow, this one really makes me really regret it if I've never done it. So, for those of you who are reading this and there is still time and opportunity, don't be afraid to apply to existing internship programs. The impact of having an internship or not will really be felt when you are in your old semester, especially after you graduate. In addition to gaining knowledge, in the internship you can also add a portfolio as your added value to apply for the job you want later, then you can get relationships with different levels as well as those who are experienced in their fields, you know. Indeed, there is already a street vendor that you will go through later to fulfill your college credits. But, there's nothing wrong with taking an internship outside of that time and schedule as long as you can and are committed to managing your time well between the obligation to run lectures and explore yourself more outside the lecture schedule, pal. So, look for detailed information and commitment to yourself so you can get a lot of experience out there. The point is, this lecture period is really not as narrow as you imagine, you have to think a lot outside the box so that you are really ready to jump into real life later (promise not real life π). College is a really frustrating time. If you focus too much on the world of work, you might forget your obligation to finish college. If you focus too much on studying, you forget that there are many things that must be prepared and it's not as narrow as that besti.
Well, maybe that's all for the first time, the stories are too long, I'm afraid I'll be bored and there will be more dry jokes, hehehe. Sorry if there are wrong words or words that are not pleasing to your heart. I'm not here to patronize all of you, I'm just here to share my story.
