Hi Brothers of Sifors, let me introduce myself. I am Gede Putu Satria Pratama Dharma Surya, who is usually called Satria on campus, but close friends at Sifors sometimes call me sprawled because I sent a group photo that turned out to be flat. I am a Sifors (2018) student, and as a member of the first batch, which does not have a role model in the study program environment, I have experienced bittersweet here.Judging from the confessions of several lecturers, I was in the category of a student who was quite disobedient and lazy, as can be seen from my longish appearance during lectures, sometimes wearing jeans, and tending to be late for class. Once upon a time during semester 4, when taking a Decision Making Systems course, I got a C, and the lecturer in charge of that course mentioned my appearance when submitting an improvement in grade. Therefore, I would like to convey a few points that might be used as a reference for juniors who feel they are a bit "rebellious" but want to do well in college and remain successful in studying at Sifors, which of course is based on my personal experience.
First, start by creating a realistic and acceptable study schedule. Don't burden yourself too much with heavy tasks every day, because that will only stress you out and make you not enjoy the learning process. Make a schedule that prioritizes important assignments and projects and leaves time to relax and hang out so that the brain doesn't get muddled and ends up stressed during college. Being ambitious may be realistic but is still used as a reference.
Second, find a suitable study partner. Studying with friends who have the same interests and goals will make the learning process more enjoyable. You can share information, have discussions, and work together. This will also help you stay focused and motivated. For example, in my personal experience, fortunately, I found and formed several circles of friends that I felt comfortable working with and learning with according to my needs and, of course, my abilities. We named the circle "Nuclear Engineering and Cont. To be honest, this circle made me have extra enthusiasm for studying at Sifors.
Third, don't be afraid to ask questions. Many people are reluctant to ask questions for fear of being wrong or being seen as ignorant. However, asking questions is the best way to understand the material and prepare for exams. Don't hesitate to ask your lecturer or classmates for help if you need it.
Fourth, it's good if we rest, exercise, and, of course, hang out enough. Rest and exercise are important to maintain health and improve concentration. Try to exercise for at least 30 minutes every day and rest for 8 hours every night. This will help you stay focused and productive while studying. But apart from that, hanging out is no less important to refresh your brain for a moment. You don't need to hang out in elite places like Warung Mursal and Pak Jon's Cafeteria; I think it's enough to let go of the headache while chatting nonchalantly with friends of the same frequency.
Lastly, don't focus too much on grades. Focus on the learning process and understanding of the material, not just grades. This will help you reach your maximum potential and go through college in a successful, relaxed, and enjoyable way.
Those are some tips for having a relaxed college life and staying successful. Remember that learning is a long process and requires effort and patience. However, if you enjoy learning and don't put too much pressure on yourself, you will be well on your way to success.
