Information Systems Study Programme Student Graduation Requirements

The information systems study programme is always committed to ensuring the competence of its graduates. In addition to competencies that are directly related to the field of information systems through competency certification, the information systems study program also seeks to ensure competence in the field of language, especially English. In the curriculum, the study program equips students' skills through general compulsory subjects, namely English. In addition, institutional support is also provided through one of the Technical Service Units that serves both language courses and exams, namely the Undiksha Language TSU.

To ensure English language competence, the information systems study program uses a TOEFL ITP (Institutional Testing Program) certificate or an EPT (English Proficiency Test) certificate as one of the graduation requirements. Students must collect a TOEFL ITP certificate or an EPT certificate as one of the requirements for registering for the thesis exam. The score set on the certificate is a minimum of 450 for TOEFL ITP or EPT. For TOEFL ITP and EPT, students are advised to take the exam through the Undiksha Language TSU. Undiksha Language TSU is one of the organizers of TOEFL ITP under IIEF (Indonesian International Education Foundation). The information systems study program encourages students to prefer to take the TOEFL ITP considering its legality and wider designation than the EPT. For information, the following is a description of the TOEFL ITP and EPT.

TOEFL ITP

TOEFL ITP (Test of English as a Foreign Language Institutional Testing Program) is a test that evaluates students' English skills in terms of understanding spoken English, grammatical rules as well as reading and understanding academic reading skills. TOEFL ITP is a test that uses a multiple choice system. TOEFL ITP scores range from 310-677. TOEFL ITP consists of three parts of the test, namely:

  1. Listening Comprehension
Listening Comprehension aims to measure students' ability in their understanding of spoken English. The number of questions consists of 50 questions, and the processing time is 30-40 minutes. Listening Comprehension consists of 3 parts, namely short conversations, long conversations and long monologues.
  2. Structure and Written Expression
Structure and Written Expression aims to measure students' skills in recognizing grammar rules and structures that are in accordance with English writing standards. The number of questions is 40 questions, processing time is 25 minutes. Structure and Written Expression is divided into 2 parts, namely questions with multiple choice answers and questions to choose the wrong answer.
  3. Reading Comprehension
Reading Comprehension aims to measure students' ability to read and understand academic reading materials. The number of questions is 50 questions and the processing time is 55 minutes.

The TOEFL ITP certificate can be used for various purposes, both within Undiksha and outside Undiksha, such as applying for scholarship programs, completing files for continuing to the Masters or Doctoral level, or applying for jobs with well-known companies.

English Proficiency Test

EPT (English Proficiency Test) is an English proficiency test as a predictive test for the TOEFL ITP. EPT aims to measure students' abilities in an academic environment. The use of the EPT certificate has limitations compared to the TOEFL ITP certificate. The EPT certificate cannot be used for scholarship purposes and may not be used to complete the requirements for other institutions/institutions/other institutions.

To meet these requirements, students can contact Undiksha Language STU (https://uptbahasa.undiksha.ac.id). If students take TOEFL ITP or EPT outside Undiksha, students must consult/coordinate with study programs to ensure their recognition. Also keep in mind that the validity period of the TOEFL ITP or EPT certificate is 2 years from the time the certificate is issued.
